Installation
System Requirements
- Windows 10 or later / Windows Server 2012 R2 or later
- .NET 8.0 or later
- Active Directory environment
- User account with appropriate permissions to read/write AD user attributes
Installation Steps
- Download the AD Photo Editor installer from the official website
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions
- Once installed, launch the application from the Start Menu or desktop shortcut
First Launch
When you launch the application for the first time, you will be presented with a welcome screen asking you to choose between:
- Free Edition - Basic functionality for photo management
- Pro Edition - Full functionality with import/export capabilities (requires a license key)
If you have a Pro Edition license key, you can enter it during this process. Otherwise, you can activate the Pro Edition later from the Settings tab.
Silent Installation
For administrators who want to deploy AD Photo Editor across multiple machines, a silent installation option is available:
ADPhotoEditor_x.x.x.exe /S [/productkey=YOUR_PRODUCT_KEY]
Replace x.x.x
with the version number and YOUR_PRODUCT_KEY
with your Pro Edition license key if applicable.
Updating to a New Version
AD Photo Editor will automatically check for updates when launched. When a new version is available:
- You'll see an "Updates available!" notification
- Click to view the changelog and update details
- Click "Install new version" to download and install the update
- The application will restart after the update is complete
You can also check for updates manually from the Settings tab.
Uninstallation
To uninstall AD Photo Editor:
- Open Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps
- Find "AD Photo Editor" in the list
- Click the three dots and select "Uninstall"
- Follow the prompts to complete the uninstallation
Alternatively, you can use the uninstaller in the installation directory or via the Start Menu entry.
